  • I'm quite disappointed that 18Forty chose to elevate a voice who called human beings she disagreed with "worthless biotrash".

This podcast brings discussion. I do not agree always with the veiwpoints in this podcast. There are times that I do not agree at all. Matter of a fact I often stay away from modernity, Respecting from a distance. This is why I listen. Not often are there people who present controversial ideas with the respect of other people and their perspectives. A person really wants to feel safe to open up. A person needs to hear what they think and needs to react to contrary ideas in a kosher way. BH

I love the openness of Dovid to the different voices/perspectives in Judaism. I think a lot of people will find their way back to the beauty and vitality of Judaism thanks to this podcast. Keep up the incredible work and keep spreading the light.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Agunah Revisited: How To Avoid High Conflict Divorce
Q: How should Gett be addressed in mediation?
Gett should be brought up timely in the mediation process and treated as a pathway to closure; delaying or using it as a leverage point can derail amicable progress.
Agunah Revisited: How To Avoid High Conflict Divorce
Q: What are common red flags that indicate a divorce may become high-conflict?
Slow response times, cancelled sessions, over-reliance on nonconstructive documents, and absolutist positions such as outright refusals to pay spousal or child support.
Agunah Revisited: How To Avoid High Conflict Divorce
Q: What is mediation's role in handling a potential divorce within California law?
Mediation sits between traditional court action and full-blown litigation, guiding couples toward an amicable, court-binding agreement, often culminating in a stipulated judgment that incorporates a Gett when applicable.
Adam Ferziger: Agents of Change [Israel & Diaspora II 4/4]
Q: How do you describe the difference between Israeli Judaism and American Orthodoxy today?
Israeli Judaism has evolved within a state and militarized context, prioritizing communal pragmatism, broader inclusion of women's learning, and a more porous approach to boundary-setting, which contrasts with the more denominational and market-driven dynamics of American Orthodoxy.
Adam Ferziger: Agents of Change [Israel & Diaspora II 4/4]
Q: What is the core thesis of your Agents of Change book regarding American Jews in Israel?
American Jews who made aliyah brought leadership, pedagogy, and innovative Orthodox practices that gradually reshaped Israeli Judaism, creating new institutions and shifting social norms in ways that differ from traditional Israeli models.
