  • Good but could be better

Way too many commercials and the same commercials over and over within the Sam episode and from episode to episode. Frankly the only thing keeping it from a 5 as the guests and content are great.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 357 - Al Hanson
Q: What is your favorite part of coaching at this level?
The whole package, with a strong emphasis on relationships. I value being a lifelong friend to players and staff, building trust, and helping them achieve success day by day.
Ep 357 - Al Hanson
Q: What's the biggest difference between coaching high school players and college players?
The biggest difference is the level of commitment; college players know exactly who they are and what they want to become, whereas high school players are still being molded into men and learning life lessons through basketball.
Ep 357 - Al Hanson
Q: I'm curious, first of all, just when did you know that you wanted to be a coach?
I realized coaching was in my future early on as a player, especially as a point guard who viewed the game from a leadership perspective; the idea of guiding others and teaching basketball and life lessons felt natural to me.
Ep 354 - Pete Menage
Q: Tell me about your safety's room and what stood out to you so far?
The room has shown exceptional adaptability, quickly embracing a new system and evolving beyond what was previously coached, with players displaying strong work ethic and a talent for learning nuanced adjustments.
Ep 353 - Jay Schindler
Q: Jay, your first year at Iowa State was a 94-95 academic year. What was it like to enter a loaded Big Eight Championship team and contribute as a freshman?
It was a mix of awe and determination; training with elite swimmers and learning from them set a foundation that helped me grow, and that year we achieved the Big Eight title together as a team.
