I have hugely enjoyed listening to episodes about hitchhiking the world, walking the globe, crazy motorcycle journeys and travelling the length of Australia with camels. The dynamic between Scott and his guests is always great. Scott has a natural interview style - curious, insightful and genuinely interested by his guests’ stories. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone looking for a feel... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 193: Making Friends in Patagonia with Natalia, Tisca, Leilan & Scott
Q: What made the W Trek feel like the right challenge for you all?
The trek offered a controlled yet demanding environment where participants could push physical limits while sharing with others on the same route, which amplified the social and emotional rewards of the journey.
Episode 194: Lootie's World Run with Marie "Lootie" Leautey
Q: How did you manage pace and injuries to keep going for two and a half years?
I focused on a comfortable, sustainable pace rather than speed, treated my body like a machine, learned anatomy and listening to signals, and avoided injuries by paying attention to minor issues before they became major problems.
Episode 194: Lootie's World Run with Marie "Lootie" Leautey
Q: Could you share a little bit about how you started running, and what inspired the idea for a world run?
I was 26, living a nomadic life in Greece and smoking a lot; a casual 5K with friends became the spark that showed how quickly I could push past perceived limits, leading to a gradual buildup that culminated in a marathon a day.
Episode 189: Guiding Transformation in the Everglades with Justin Tucker
Q: What is your official role as an instructor on an Outward Bound course?
As an instructor, the role is to facilitate the course experience, prioritize safety, teach day-to-day course practices, and gradually hand over more responsibility to students as the course progresses.
Episode 189: Guiding Transformation in the Everglades with Justin Tucker
Q: What goes on in the Everglades, and will I encounter a python or an alligator?
You may encounter both; the Everglades hosts a variety of wildlife, including alligators and, occasionally, pythons. The environment is coastal and mangrove-dense, with opportunities to paddle through coastal channels and islands while remaining mindful of wildlife.
