  • So much good stuff!

Thanks to TTPOD for the best trac info out there! This show has so many good tips and hacks. I listen on my way to and from work and I literally need a secretary riding with me to take all the notes of tips I want to remember! Gunner and Kyle always make it fun and I’m trying desperately to find out how I can become part of the TTPOD team! Love it so much!

  • Love this show and Gunnar is goofy

On the Jan 22 show, he way too casually said “I did not poo* my pants” and completely glossed over it. So when did that happen and why did you say that so casually? Lol

In all seriousness, have been a listener since day 1, and a TT premium subscriber. Big fan and supporter!

  • Helpful for intermediate level

I’m about three years into the points of miles hobby and consider myself to be a low-level intermediate player. I listen to the TT podcast every week and always learn something new. This week’s review of what’s in everyone’s wallet and what credit cards you recommend for 2026 (along with the listener question at the end) was especially helpful as I look ahead to my 2027 travel plans.

Ask Us Anything: Biz Class to Australia, How We Earn Points & Big Pod News!
Q: Ryan's submission about a rare Delta Silver Medallion bag tag prompts a light-hearted aside on status symbols and bag tags; what's the take-away?
Bag tags are mostly a novelty; status recognition isn't guaranteed to improve service, and the hosts joke about creating fake tags for fun but acknowledge real benefits come from solid status through airline programs and elite lines, not flashy tags alone.
Ask Us Anything: Biz Class to Australia, How We Earn Points & Big Pod News!
Q: Whitney asks when a travel agency might be preferable to booking hotels with points; when is it worth using an agent?
Most listeners enjoy the control and find planning fun, but for extremely complex trips with multiple countries, safaris, or intricate logistics, a travel agent can still add value; otherwise, the hosts prefer DIY planning but acknowledge skilled agents can help in big, complicated itineraries.
Ask Us Anything: Biz Class to Australia, How We Earn Points & Big Pod News!
Q: Lauren and Mel want to upgrade from economy to premium/business when one partner's employer covers only economy; what's the realistic upgrade strategy?
Upgrade opportunities exist but are not guaranteed; consider booking the premium seat from the start for the one who needs it, and use flexible airline programs where possible; if upgrades are rare, prioritize booking the lie-flat seat you want and adjust plans to preserve value, using targeted airline partners that offer better upgrade odds.
Ask Us Anything: Biz Class to Australia, How We Earn Points & Big Pod News!
Q: Robin wonders about dynamic pricing for family travel and how to handle pricing discrepancies when adding more travelers; how should she approach this?
Search multiple group sizes (1, 2, 4) to identify bucket prices, and if there's a gap, book two tickets at the lower price and two at the higher price separately to minimize total miles; if traveling with kids, allocate riders carefully across parents to optimize pricing.
Ask Us Anything: Biz Class to Australia, How We Earn Points & Big Pod News!
Q: Gina asks about the best earning strategies to rack up points and miles after already earning a big welcome bonus; what are some effective approaches?
The core idea is a mindset shift: before any purchase, ask how to maximize mileage, then use a targeted mix of everyday spending, shopping portals, referrals, and choosing cards that align with grocery and restaurant categories; combine two cards for broad coverage and use 2X/4X earning strategies for constant opportunities, while keeping costs and annual fees in mind.
