  • Amazing Content

Must listen if you care about riding well and in a way that supports the health, happiness, and quality of life of your horse.

After years of disillusionment from watching “top” riders in the FEI and Olympic level ride on the forehand, inverted backs, bloody mouths, heavy hands and dead seats—I didn’t know where to turn to find quality riding advice that respects the horse. I think this podcast is finally it.

  • Finally! These discussions are much needed

Finally someone interviewing professionals and raising these issues. Really hope riders at large start to question a lot of devices and ways of riding that aren’t good for horses biomechanically or mentally.

Classical Dressage for the Horse’s Long-Term Health: Sonja Weber on Optimising Posture | Ep. 5
Q: How do you view the relationship between stretching frames and carrying capacity?
Stretching frames can be useful as a relaxation tool, but they must be integrated with carrying-capacity work so the horse does not lose balance; balance and relaxation should be built first, with activation coming as a natural result of proper training.

The core principle is using dressage for the horse, not forcing the horse into dressage, and ensuring collection arises from natural balance and musculoskeletal development rather than from imposing a forehand-dominant movement.
Nuno Oliveira’s Art of Riding & Life: Pureza Oliveira on Her Father, His Books, and Her Story
Q: How did his approach to books and reading influence his teaching and philosophy?
Her father insisted on reading the masters and the old texts, believing that the best solutions come from understanding the and applying long-standing principles, not from one-off methods.
Nuno Oliveira’s Art of Riding & Life: Pureza Oliveira on Her Father, His Books, and Her Story
Q: Who were his closest students or most influenced by him today?
