I’m updating my review from over a year ago now that I’ve been pretty consistently listening. You guys have come such a long way in a short time and the show is incredible. I love the added stuff like Taboo Terrors and reading the articles on the site as well.
The feminine perspective is always important with horror and the deeper analysis you two offer is always thought provoking. There are genres, like rape revenge for example, that I never wanted to consider as worthwhile until hearing your ... more
I was hopeful for this podcast. As a fellow female lover of horror, I thought this would be refreshing. I listened to 2 episodes and was done. These ladies mispronounced the simplest words. It became really annoying. Note to mention mispronouncing Laurie Strode. Really? You don’t know the name of the lead character in Halloween? Really disappointing
Great podcast to sink your teeth into if you are hungry for thoughtful feminist analysis on your horror favorites! I love how they explore my favorite shows and movies and they make me want to catch up on all the flicks I haven’t seen yet. They even made me change my perspective on some of my least favorite horror movies. I can’t get enough!
Jess and Kelly are whip-smart, funny, and deeply passionate about what horror means to them, and to their audience. It’s like if Ginger and Brigitte Fitzgerald had a podcast about genre. (Which is which tho? Hmm.)
