I’m really enjoying this. Very entertaining. I like Susan and Len’s style, and what’s also good is that there are no irritating mispronunciations! I had to stop listening to a Betwixt the Sheets episode the other day as the guest academic couldn’t pronounce Scone or Balliol properly and it was driving me up the wall.

I long loved reading about medieval history, particularly Scotland’s, and this podcast is an entertaining take on all the blood and troubles, delivered with humor and candor. I know Len Pennie from her “Scots Word of the Day” videos, and she is in fine form here with Susan Morrison. After they’ve covered the compelling history of kings, I wouldn’t mind hearing them take on history from the people’s point of view, from the hearth instead of the throne. This show has well told stories of Scottish history with interesting perspectives and humor. Unfortunately, they tend to mix in modern political subtext and commentary to include negative U.S. political comments. One wouldn’t think history would require current politics. Good way to alienate the audience
