Found this podcast and have been binging from the beginning! I’m not in CA, so not everything will apply, but so much great general information about the major and minor systems of construction that every Realtor will benefit from. John is great at explaining commonly seen inspection issues and, without alarm, how to address them. I love his “matter of fact” approach, sensibility and humor. He does a great job of choosing his topics and bringing in experts in those fields, which only adds to his... more
This is an absolute must for Realtors, Home Buyers, anyone really! John is the best in the business and the knowledge he and his guests provide is invaluable. Highly recommend!
I got lucky (so far), but dumb luck is no substitute for having an expert share their experience in an entertaining, informative format like this podcast. I mean, it’s not everyone who can keep me onboard for a 20 minute discussion about drywall, but this works for me, and I feel like I have a much better sense of what to worry about and when to cqll someone than I did before. Highly recommended!

Great Podcast! I've been in the home inspection business for nearly 20 years and I've listened to other home inspection podcasts. However, John LaForme has taken it to a whole different level! I like that he interviews industry experts like, attorneys, license contractors, insurance experts in the home inspection industry and other home inspectors. I have learned and applied many things to my home inspection business, thanks to the industry experts John interviews.

I learn so much from listening. For sure will pass along to my fellow inspectors and to all the agents I work with.
John, I really enjoy all of your episodes. Being a “Handyman” and seeing what I see out here in the world of terrible repairs and unsafe practice, I respect how you take a straight forward approach to say what you see and give the best advise possible to allow homeowners to be safe and comfortable in their new homes.
As someone who grew up the son of a carpenter, I understand many of the basics of home construction. It is impressive how straightforward and clear John makes what can be difficult or complex topics. Great discussions and observations come from who is obviously a very experienced professional.
I’ve been preparing to purchase a home, wow, I didn’t understand how unprepared I was until listening to John. This show is a MUST for anyone thinking about buying a home.
