Gender dysphoria has become a minefield for public discussion, with many afraid to express their views or question the narrative. Our mission is to examine this important and complex topic from a range of perspectives, but always through a psychological lens. By openly considering and examining gender identity, transition, and the transgender umbrella, we hope to give all interested parties permission to engage these fascinating topics with less fear and more honesty. Interviews and discussions will involve clinicians, medical professionals, academics, transgender people, parents, detransitioners and other interesting individuals whose lives have been touched by the concept of gender. Conversations between two practicing therapists give listeners an opportunity to contemplate gender from a depth perspective not currently taken up in most of today’s accessible debates. If you’re a parent looking for a way to disguise your disapproval as support, then this is the podcast for you.
Love this podcast, especially the Pioneers series. It’s great to hear Stella and Sasha approaching gender questioning children from a place of compassion, open mindedness, and evidence based.
This podcast is guised as trying to be balanced and helpful but after hearing transphobic comments I researched it’s funding only to find out it’s promoted by proponents of conversion therapists. Please if you are parents of transyouth, find your information elsewhere. These people don’t care about your child.
I’ve listened to a large number of podcasts about gender and this is one of the best. Sasha and Stella are incredibly knowledgeable but as therapists are open to discussion and to having their own opinions swayed by whichever guest they’re interviewing. Likewise, they’re unafraid to challenge if they feel something isn’t right. more
