In this special Quarantine edition of Fixed in Post, host John Barber recruits some new blood. He is joined by Chris Thiessen, Director of Sales & Event Programming at the Rabbit Room, and they cover two of John's favorite films—Children of Men and P... more
John Barber and Pete Peterson look back at the year in film and start making some lists. A list of favorites? Yep. A list of disappointments? Yep. Lists everywhere. It was the best of years, it was the worst of years (and John Barber is mostly wrong)... more
Love him or hate him, Quentin Tarantino has always been a provocative director. In his newest film he takes a look back at the Hollywood of the late '60s with its hippies and westerns and Bruce Lee and even a little bit of The Great Escape. There's a... more
There’s been some negative press about the new Tolkien biopic starring Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins, and a lot of folks have shied away from the film due to rumors of how the film might have been mishandled. The legacy of old Tollers is something ... more

I’ve loved listening to this podcast, it is great fun, so I’m giving it five stars. However, I must say that I don’t agree with their review of Christopher Robin. At all. Not one bit. 🤷🏼♀️
Christopher Robin was a beautiful film, highlighting family, imagination, and innocence. My kid siblings, my parents and I all loved and enjoyed this film. It is not dull or boring, and I’ve heard from a variety of people and ages who enjoyed Christopher Robin. I’m just throwing this out there so that lis... more
So, I’ve only listened to one episode and it’s great fun, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.
However, I am a little mad, because they happen to be tearing apart a movie that is very dear to me; Christopher Robin.
It was such a simple, beautiful, innocent movie, I can’t imagine anyone actually thinking that it was a failure or clunky or that no kid would like it. My brother and sisters(ages 7, 10, 14) love it. Not to mention my parents and adult sisters. I never watched the original Winnie the Pooh as... more
The Rabbit Room Podcast Network is full of good stuff, but this mayyyyy legit be my favorite. Even though I haven't seen most of the films they've talked about, I love listening to Pete and John analyze, celebrate, and sometimes argue about movies. (Spoiler Alert: sometimes they have opposite opinions, but they aren't rude about it)
If you're looking for a thoughtful take on the art and craft of cinema, pick an episode with a film you're interested in and check it out!
What happened to the Game of Thrones episode? It was so thoughtful and so good, I have recommended it to many. And now it has disappeared! I am so very sorry! (And a little embarrassed, too because apparently I have been recommending something that no longer exists.)
There’s plenty of resources out there for Christians to filter movies based on content. But there’s not many that talk to the quality of a cinematic experience any film does or doesn’t deliver. I so appreciate this discussion with John and Pete. They talk about what can make a film beautiful while acknowledging certain films may not be for everyone. I look forward to more of these in the future. Subscribed!
