I am sure there are some helpful tidbits here and there. But, the best use of this podcast is a drinking game. Every time I host says guidebook take a shot, but use caution you’ll be hammered in no time. I appreciate an entrepreneur. And paying someone for their time and information. However, paying someone who makes what could be considered racist comments, is clearly full of himself, strangely interested in sharing bad things that have occurred in the park, and has been convicted of illegal a... more
Does he try to sell his guidebook.? Yes. Who cares. This podcast is full of awesome information and his insight is top notch. I absolutely love Yellowstone and this podcast helped me find and research new areas of the park. Very informative.
Let me sum up the general message I’m catching on this podcast: “There are two things more awesome than Yellowstone. One is my guidebook about Yellowstone and the other is me.”
I have to hope there is good information on this podcast. The 15-20 minutes of the April 2024 update I listened to actually were a bit helpful in understanding BMAs, BUT things were repeated so much, and the self promotion and infomercial for “the best Yellowstone guidebook in the world” just put me to a point of exhau... more
Basically he is just selling his guidebook.
I appreciate the need for him to advertise his guidebook but it’s a bit much. I am sure that there’s great info in the guidebook and I will probably purchase the book but the podcast is painful.

This show offers practical Yellowstone and Grand Teton vacation guidance drawn from decades of first-hand park experience. Listeners routinely hear route planning, lodging tricks to save money, time-saving tips inside the parks, and detailed wildlife viewing guidance, including where and when to see bears and wolves and how to avoid crowds. Episodes mix practical itineraries with entertaining storytelling, highlighting lesser-known trails, hidden viewpoints, and historic vantage points, often tied to a legacy guidebook and companion app. A notable angle is the host's emphasis on value—cheap lodging just outside the parks, money-saving travel tactics, and early-entrance tips—paired with vivid park lore and family-influenced history.
