  • Faith and Food

Season 5 Episode 5 Faith and Food was particularly helpful for me as I have struggled with an unhealthy relationship with food for years. Seeing my addiction through a Biblical lens gave me a different way to view my over consumption and God’s will for me. Thank you Pastor Brian and Pastor Judah.

  • Intelligient, genuine, and heart-felt discussion.

We don’t live in a black and white world. We need people who build bridges between all the broken pieces and culture. The only way to do that is to be real, vulnerable, educated, and authentic. I love listening to Pastor Lance and Pastor Brian as they engage us in discussion and bravely talk about today’s cultural issues.

  • Informative, Unbiased, Unafraid.

So grateful for BOLD church leadership that is not afraid to tackle the difficult topics -- especially when panelists don't agree on everything. Thank you for this podcast. Especially when traveling or just having a difficult day, this inspires me to do better, be better, and draw closer to my God to engage in those difficult questions. Thank you for not being an echo chamber of what I already think/know I believe, but truly challenging me.

Q: What is the role of prayer when dealing with geopolitical crises like Iran?
Prayer centers compassion for civilians, calls for wise leadership, and keeps focus on human dignity rather than political wins.
Why Passion Isn't Enough with Kaylie Housewright, L.P.C.C. and How to Think and Pray About the Conflict in Iran
Q: How can leaders help passionate people grow in competence without killing their heart for the calling?
By pairing mentoring with concrete opportunities to serve, giving them room to fail, and using 'the gift of going second' to model reflection and accountability.
Why Passion Isn't Enough with Kaylie Housewright, L.P.C.C. and How to Think and Pray About the Conflict in Iran
Q: Kaylie, why is passion without training potentially harmful in ministry?
Because passion can burn out or lead to arrogant, ill-led initiatives; training provides a durable foundation that sustains ministry through difficult times.
Why Shared Experiences Matter and Christian Downs on How to Have More Natural Evangelistic Conversations
Q: What advice can you give to believers who want to get into environments where they can make friends with people who don't know Christ?
Be known in non-churchy places, like gyms or community groups, to build trust through shared experiences.
Why Shared Experiences Matter and Christian Downs on How to Have More Natural Evangelistic Conversations
Q: What is the fatal flaw of invitation?
The fatal flaw is saying no to God on behalf of someone else before even asking, which stifles the work of the Spirit.
