  • Love these Sisters!

I look forward to listening to each podcast and sometimes I listen over and over. I love the ones on Prayer and Eucharistic Adoration. I shared them with my granddaughters teacher. Sister Veronica’s interview touched me in a profound way and I have shared it with a few friends who have had similar heartbreak.

I actually love each podcast for different reasons. Keep up the great work. You ladies make me proud to be a Catholic. 🩷🙏🌸

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 29: From Wheeling and Dealing to Kneeling – The Bronx Bride of Christ (Sr. Maria, O.P.)
Q: What finally convinced you to pursue the Dominican path after that inner pull?
She recalls the retreat experience, the guidance of a spiritual director, and the sense that home was in the convent, culminating in a decision to call the Dominican Sisters of Mary and pursue entrance.
Ep. 29: From Wheeling and Dealing to Kneeling – The Bronx Bride of Christ (Sr. Maria, O.P.)
Q: Sister, I'm wondering, how did you go from being in this life to now really seriously consider the real possibility that you would have a vocation and taking steps in that direction?
She describes a dramatic interior realization during quiet moments of prayer at the chapel, recognizing that religious life was not just a possibility but a true calling, reinforced by a sense of peace and alignment with her deepest desires after wrestling with career and family dreams.
Ep. 27: Ask the Sisters – Q&A #1 (Sr. Louis Marie, O.P. & Sr. Elizabeth John, O.P.)
Q: What is the difference between praying to Saints and Mary and the Holy Spirit's role in the Church?
Prayers to saints and Mary are understood as asking friends and intercessors to pray with and for them; the Holy Spirit animates and unites the Church, giving gifts to build up the Body and transformation in Christ.
Ep. 27: Ask the Sisters – Q&A #1 (Sr. Louis Marie, O.P. & Sr. Elizabeth John, O.P.)
Q: Do sisters have to wear habits all the time, even during sports, and how do they keep them white and clean?
Habits are worn consistently, with practical adjustments like pinning up for activity, and mantaining cleanliness with routine care; the habit serves as a constant witness and reminder of their consecration.
Ep. 27: Ask the Sisters – Q&A #1 (Sr. Louis Marie, O.P. & Sr. Elizabeth John, O.P.)
Q: Is there a priest that comes to celebrate Mass and expose Jesus for adoration? Is it a diocesan priest? Is it 24-7 adoration?
Daily Mass exists at their convents, with priests from local parishes often regularizing access, and the women begin each day with Eucharistic adoration, though 24-7 adoration is not feasible for small communities.
