Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education) stars in a dark, near-future science fiction fairytale about a robot who can feel, and the world that attempts to control her. When a robot called Eliza falls in love with Him (Arthur Darvill, Doctor Who), they work together to make her fully sentient. But consciousness doesn’t come without consequences. As Eliza gets caught in a web of both loving and abusive relati... more

This well produced and performed story about a robot isn't really a story about a robot. But it is a powerful, woman-centric story everyone should hear.
Actress Tanya Reynolds has a voice made for audiodramas, and she portrays Eliza so wonderfully. The story respectfully addresses some difficult subject matter without a heavy-handedness that could push away casual listeners. It’s accessible and thought-provoking. I would love to hear more from Eliza and her world!
I love this show so much. It's so well acted and produced and written, I'm just blown away.
A great story of that hooked me!
I expected it to end up like terminator or something similar but it was really good

Great Podcast with fantastic storytelling. Honest and challenging, engaging and tense. Loved it!
More like this, please. More upsetting stories with clear purpose and positive intent.
A strong and clear - if not entirely original - SF plot, told very well. Mixed with a strong and clear message on domestic violence.
The two meld wonderfully, assisted by the excellent voice acting and spot on production.
I listened to this on Apple Podcasts last year. This story is sad and beautifully written. The audio performance is outstanding. Even on the second listen, I noticed small details I missed the first time, and the twists hit just as hard.

This gripping sci-fi thriller enthralls the listener with Eliza’s personal awakening and the slow horror of the changing relationship with her designated human, ‘Him’. The fascinating and shifting sociopolitical backdrop in - which considers how robot rights may one day evolve (and compete with?) ‘human’ rights - compounds oppressive feel of the show. How can Eliza escape when the fabric of society deems her a threat? The acting and sound design are as fantastic as you might expect them to be! I... more
In a future world, where robot companions are commonplace, a man falls in love with his robot and, hoping for his affections to be reciprocated, he makes her sentient. But things don’t work out as he planned. An unusual sci-fi story told from a woman’s perspective, making it all the more poignant. The world created here is fascinating and the consequences of making artificial intelligence sentient is well explored. Thoroughly recommended
As someone who has experienced DV and DA before I was on the edge of trying this show. However, I gave it a chance and boy when I tell you I’m happy I did! There is something healing about this show that I love. Aside from the audio being amazing, the story is well written and I love the voice actors. If you are on the edge like me, give this show a try!
A fantastic near future story about a robot who becomes self-aware. The production, witting, acting - all stellar. I was pulled in almost from minute 1. I’m not sure I agree with the thematic parallel at its core - but it was such an engrossing story, I’m glad I went on the whole ride. Outstanding.
