My name is Dr. John Watson, once of the British Army Northumberland Fusilier Regiment, now a true crime podcaster based in Central London. I don't have much experience in criminology, so this is mostly a record of how I met possibly the most brilliant and bizarre person I have ever (and will ever) know. Join me as I document the adventures of Sherlock Holmes. This podcast is property of Goalhanger... more

BROTHERS IN ARMS - We were out in Mykonos. Enjoying ourselves. At peace. In the serenity of our bonding friendship amidst the golden sands and piercing blue seas. Nothing could disturb that. Nothing.

GREECE IS THE WORD - I was in a state of repair. Of rest. Of relaxation. Or at least - that's what I had attempted. The downtime was causing a certain flatmate of mine to itch. To fidget. To be so bored and frustrated that he took me to the very fune... more

An absolutely stunning take on Holmes & Watson. So good; I’m obsessed!
I am a prolific consumer of fiction podcasts and a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock & Co. is, hands down, my favorite fiction podcast and my favorite Holmes adaptation.
This used to be one of my faves but it has really taken a downturn recently. It feels more like a slice of life with too much idle chit chat and daily life interactions and not much engaging mystery. While I would generally say this is well acted the charm of all the stuttering oohs, ahs, hmms is becoming tedious. I find I am skipping ahead minutes of time to get beyond all extra patter.
I’ve never really got into listening to Podcasts but having recently met the Director of Sherlock & Co, I said I would give it a go as I do love a Sherlock Holmes story, I am now fully immersed in this re-telling of the famous detective and am loving it. Theme tune is spot on as well.
These new “true crime” Holmes stories follow the original plot lines quite faithfully! So there is no real mystery for ACD fans (like me). The pleasure in listening is familiarity (“Watson, remember your service revolver”) blended with modernity (cyber robbery, social media and catfishing) This podcast has CLEVER VERISIMILITUDE. But I think it’s OVER NIGIL-ized. ie: The radio versions made Dr Watson an oaf for comic relief largely because Nigil Bruce was excellent at such portrayal. The narrator... more
