Reviews

4.6 out of 5 stars from 49 ratings
  • Host talks about herself too much

I love Cronometer and enjoy the guests, they are great but the host is constantly talking about herself in every episode. Eliisa frequently talks about herself and her situation (yes we all know you like to run) instead of bringing up concerns that listeners who are different from her may have. It comes across as one-sided like it’s a personal meeting for her concerns, luckily the guests realize they are talking to wide audience and relay information to a wider crowd.

Episode 38: Ethan Bernard’s Journey from 660 Pounds to Sustainable Health
Q: What message would you give people that are feeling stuck in their own health journey or just at the beginning?
It is hard to actually make the decision to change as opposed to being convinced or having convinced yourself that you made it. Once you have the reason, and if you are eating in a calorie deficit, you will start reaching towards your goals.
Episode 34: Fueling Balance with Gabrielle Palmeri
Q: Can you give us a quick guideline of how many grams you personally recommend people consume of both fiber and protein?
For fiber, women should aim for at least 25 grams and men for 38 grams per day, gradually increasing intake. For protein, a recommended guideline is around 0.8 grams per kilogram of body weight.
Episode 34: Fueling Balance with Gabrielle Palmeri
Q: What do you think are some of the common causes of bloating?
Common causes of bloating can be related to food intolerances, stress, and how quickly you eat. Managing stress and eating slowly can help improve gut health.
Episode 33: Fuelling for Athletes and Everyday Warriors with Will Girling
Q: How do you know when you're doing these activities that you should be fueling again?
It's based on the duration of the activity; typically if it's over two hours, fueling during the activity becomes critical to avoid energy deficit.
Episode 33: Fuelling for Athletes and Everyday Warriors with Will Girling
Q: Tell me about gut training. What is that? How would I even train my gut to adapt?
Gut training involves slowly increasing the amount of carbohydrates consumed during long activities to prepare the stomach to handle higher volumes effectively.
