Each fortnight, hosts Lauren and Alicia delve into a ‘deviant’ woman from history, fiction, mythology and the contemporary world: those who aren’t afraid to break the rules, to subvert the system, to explore, to seek and to challenge the status quo.

Always fascinating and hilarious, thanks for this amazing show!
Not fun to hear the kitchentable chit-chat talk, giggles and laughter of the presenters.
Loved the Farrokhzad episode, gave me goose bumps!
I’m still working through the back catalogue, but I’m worried about running out!
Excellent podcast with insightful hosts.
I've only just started listening to it, so I know few of the women they showcase, but I loved the episodes about the Handmaid's Tale.
(However I have to admit I find the theme song absolutely unbearable.)
Totally recommend!
I just discovered this podcast and I cannot stop listening. It’s so interesting, funny, and entertaining. Thank you for doing this wonderful and important work!!!
This podcast is an absolute treat! I just stumbled upon it when I was looking to learn more about Hilma af Klint, and now I am hooked! I can’t wait to listen to more!
Love the show! I love hearing about all these awesome women that are so underrepresented in history. Love getting the contextual information about the period of history they lived in. I have learned so much and it doesn’t feel like a history lesson at all. And I’m so thrilled that Hilma af Klint’s secret artworks are coming to Sydney this year! I would not have realised how awesome that is without the podcast telling me about this fascinating and groundbreaking artist.
I love this podcast- it’s the place I go when I want to learn, when I need a good chuckle, and when I need a pick me up. Thank you for all that you do!
Ps. Have you considered doing Artemisia Gentileschi? She was a famous female artist who studied under Caravaggio. She was also sexually assaulted and was one of few women who - in part due to the urging of her father - brought her accuser to court. Fascinating, and one of my absolute favorite painters.
I love this podcast so much! The stories are so interesting and so far (I’m only on episode 10) most of the women I have never heard of. A side note, I’m currently listening to the Anne Bonny episode and I got so excited over it because it’s the first deviant woman that I knew of! I did a research project on her in elementary school and at first I was like, “This can’t be the pirate Anne Bonny can it???” and then I flipped when it was revealed it was! It really made my day.
I love these women! Very very well researched and so easy to listen to. Working my way through the back catalogue as late to the party. They tell a brilliant story, stay on point and don’t waffle about other stuff like so many other podcasters do. Big fan
This is an absolutely fantastic podcast, wondering if there’s going to be an episode on Julie d’Aubigny one day, I’d love to see one.
Deviant Women is an entertaining and factual podcast series with feminist critiques and parallels from history to current events are frequently commented upon. The hosts are relatable, personable and acknowledge their own biases while not flinching from tackling difficult subjects that arise. Enjoyable each and every time to listen to.
Deviant Women is the best podcast I have ever listened to. I love Lauren and Alicia’s banter and the way they tell women’s stories. I’ve been listening to these podcasts for about a year now and I have learnt so much about so many women, who have now become my idols. I recommend this podcast to everyone I know and I hope they never stop recording!
I’m a new listener and am having the best time playing catch-up. I usually avoid podcasts at all costs but this one has me taking my headphones everywhere with me. Keep going, please!
