If I could give these podcast twice the stars I would unhesitatingly. There are full transcipts for Podcasts 8 - 12 at thegoverningbody.org for those who wish to follow along. but the decision between obedience and life or disobedience and death is actually espoused in the Bible (Deut 30:19,20). So, if you have a problem, let's not pretend that it is those mean old Jehovah's witnesses (who, by the way, are not coerced into membership) but let's put the problem squarely where it is. Of course, can't garner as much sympathy that way and measured by that yardstick its hard to portray yourself as the victim.
The previous review claims this is a "must hear." Those who wish more ammunition for their bias against the Witnesses will love this. The person who recorded this sets the tone for the listener by telling them what they should listen for and how unscriptural it is. Within the introduction, the podcaster speaks of "secretive" judicial committees... I'm curious to know if they let the elders know they were recording the conversations. So really now... who's being the deceitful one? Not one member... more
If you have ANY notions of associating with Jehovah's Witnesses, you must first listen to this podcast. It is long, but demonstrates clearly what you're getting yourself into. Jehovah's Witnesses are not like most organizations where you can join and later, if you choose, you can leave. This is like the maffia, where, once you get in, you can never get out.
