Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

After the Applause: Why Coming Home From Tour Can Be the Hardest Part for Performers
Q: What guidance do you have for preparing the body and mind for returning home two days before you land?
Start decompression early, set clear expectations with loved ones, create a little buffer with no immediate obligations, and gradually reintroduce structure to ease the nervous system back into a calmer baseline.
After the Applause: Why Coming Home From Tour Can Be the Hardest Part for Performers
Q: But before we go into the landing portion, can you give us a sense of what is so demanding and different about tour life?
Tour life is a mix of high stimulation, structured but intense schedules, and deep, short-term connections that end abruptly; the reentry challenges come from the abrupt drop in adrenaline and the need to recalibrate sleep, identity, and daily routines.
Episode 98: Beautiful Curves, Understanding Scoliosis
Q: What are the different types of scoliosis?
There are classifications that define where the curve is situated and the length of the curve, primarily categorized into structural and functional scoliosis.
Episode 98: Beautiful Curves, Understanding Scoliosis
Q: Could you start with just a description of the work you do with dancers who have scoliosis?
I help dancers develop a scoliosis-specific maintenance program that allows them to embrace their unique bodies and movement dynamics.
Episode 97: When It’s Not Just the Hip: Pelvic Floor Dysfunction in Disguise
Q: Are there signs and symptoms for patients that might indicate a pelvic floor issue?
Look for current pelvic floor concerns, pain during intimacy, leaking, or issues with bowel and bladder control, which could suggest pelvic floor dysfunction.
