マザーグースは、英語圏の「わらべうた」
英国ではナーサリィ・ライム(子ども部屋の押韻詩)といいます。
英語の国の子どもたちが、大人と一緒に歌って遊び、じぶんの国のことば(母語)を歌と遊びで覚えていった、コミュニケーションのはじまりなのです。
