Jesse has the best energy and is so enthusiastic about each week’s topic. She’s so positive and I look forward to each episode
Such nuanced and informed conversations about such a wide diversity of groups. I learn something new every week and have a little giggle too :))
I was a little put off by the idea that this might be a pro-cult show, but it really isn’t. It’s honest about human frailty and the need to belong to things and the hosts are very witty and enjoyable.
This is such a fun and interesting podcast to listen to, perfect for a long drive, or a deep clean. The insight into how others choose to live, sometimes by coercion, is fascinating. The host, Jesse, has had lots of personal experiences that she freely shares.
I enjoy hearing a more neutral/balanced perspective on learning about cults. What brings the podcast over the top for me though is the psychological insights the hosts have into why they might be enticed to join and into theirmindsin general. Jesse especially has a fascinating life story that I'm grateful she shares with us openly.

Two hosts explore a wide array of cults, fringe groups, and high-control communities through a blend of personal experience, research, and thoughtful commentary. Episodes range from deep-dive analyses of specific movements to reaction-style takes on documentaries and reality shows, often balancing empathy with critical inquiry. The show tends to emphasize human psychology, power dynamics, and culture, delivering nuanced perspectives without sensationalism, and frequently weaving in historical context and societal impact. A distinctive trait is the hosts' willingness to share their own experiences while inviting listeners to form their own judgments, making the content both informative and entertaining for curious, long-form listeners.
