As an educator, I see it as a useful tool to deter young people from a life of crime and for those who may have been in trouble, it reduces the rate of recidivism. It also allows adults to have an open conversation with young people and make them more aware of the laws as it relates to felons and the obstacles that one faces after being convicted of a felony.
