  • Farewell

I will definitely miss this podcast and Will and BJ’s rapport. However as I scroll back through episodes I missed the first time around, I’m impressed with so many shows that touch on evergreen topics I’ll always need a refresher on.

The podcast might’ve retired but it will be a fantastic resource for a long time.

  • Dead air podcast

I used to listen to this crew a lot. Sad to see they’re done, but frankly I felt they stagnated a long time ago. So much time spent talking about personal hobbies without making any real points. There’s nothing wrong with being well-rounded and encouraging listeners to live balanced lives, but these episodes could’ve been 15 minutes each. Frankly, learning Slavic languages without any apparent travel aspirations seemed vain. The long-running IoT segment was equally pointless with a noticeable la... more

  • Good Conversations on Core Topics & Principles

I enjoy the subject matter these guys discuss. Most of it is applicable to those who’ve been in the field for a while, as well as those just entering the space. My one piece of critical feedback is to cut the banter short in the beginning. I don’t love listening to 7.5 minutes of fluff before getting to the meat of the episode.

  • BJ and Will are great hosts! You can tell they really care about what they're doing. I highly recommend their blog posts they do for each episode because it helps you remember the important parts of the show.

I also like that they spend a lot of time covering soft skills, because let's face it...technical skills will only get you so far. Technical skills + People skills will make you unstoppable!

Great podcast to keep current in the dev world and prompt ideas. I've been a software engineer for 20+ years and I'm still learning :)

  • Long time listener, first time commenter

I’ve been listening to your shows for years and never took the action to properly thank you for the good that you’ve done for me and the community. When I first started listening I was lost in what I wanted to do with my life and binging through the earlier episodes started to give me confidence in my ability to improve and make my on again off again programming learning journey a consistent one. Last year I decided to actually put it to use and committed to myself that I would be a developer by... more

  • Indispensable part of my routine

    Hi BJ and Will,

I’m a startup developer from Vancouver, Canada, and I’ve been listening to the podcast for over a year now. I started at Episode 0 and finally caught up with you this morning! Because this podcast spans such a comprehensive range of topics, it is the perfect companion for someone like me who has to wear many different hats at several different companies. Thanks so much for everything you’ve done!

  • Complete indeed!

I’d been coasting at the same company for over a decade, and when I had to put myself back on the job market, my love of developing was rekindled. Will and BJ’s podcast became a cornerstone of my newfound thirst for knowledge. A perfect mix of the topical and evergreen, breadth and depth, and worth a deep dive into the archive.

  • Great newbie advice digest

I've been listening to Will & Beej for a few years now. The consistency and breadth of this show is awesome, and a perfect complement to more technical podcasts. Even though some episodes wander towards backend topics I never touch, there’s plenty of content to satisfy anyone. My only complaint is the length of the episodes; the intro & outro are pretty long and detract from the core content. Regardless, this podcast is on my subscription list and will probably stay that way as long as they keep... more

  • Good for anyone new in IT!

I’m a computer Information systems student graduating in May so I’ve been doing all of the things that I need to do so that I can get a good entry level job afterwards, so listening to a lot of the episodes with topics on personal development outside of education has been soooo helpful for me! Since I worked most of college and had to support myself I didn’t get a lot of time to work on personal projects or anything outside of school so I’m having to put the recruiters’ microscope on my personal... more
