On Easter, the future has come. It is here. We are on it. It is under us. Life has broken into death. This changes everything.
Emily Vermilya: “So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it, ‘The Lord is Peace’ and to this day it stands…” The altar is a point of departure where we swear allegiance to one God and part ways with another.
Steve DeNeff: “See! This has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” We have lost touch with the idea of atonement and settled for forgiveness instead, but you don’t need an altar for forgiveness.
Steve DeNeff: “David built an altar to the Lord there… (and) the Lord answered prayer on behalf of the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.’” When we intercede at an altar, things become possible that were not possible before.

Please
I love his teachings and lesson, I have pretty much every single one of his podcasts keep them coming!!!
I use to attend College Wesleyan Church back in college and I have to say Steve Deneff is my favorite pastor. I have been to so many churches but I love the simplicity, clarity, and genuine nature of his sermons. So glad this is available online.
love deneff's writing and style. why is there only one podcast available each week? why not leave the older podcasts up? They would be a great resource for me and many others.

This program features weekly sermons from a central church, with a focus on biblical storytelling, personal transformation, and practical faith applications. Episodes commonly explore themes like covenant, worship, altar spaces, and the relevance of ancient biblical events to everyday life, often blending narrative scripture with exhortation and calls to live out faith through generosity, leadership, and community engagement. A standout aspect is the emphasis on making spiritual practices tangible—creating meaningful spaces for encounter with the divine and applying timeless truths in modern settings. Listeners seem drawn to accessible teaching, continuity of content, and a sense of community rooted in traditional Christian teachings.
