  • Great content, Solid Scripture, Host Needs Growth

Highly recommend for the content, encouragement, and fun laughs. Listening to this podcast is like eating too much caramel cheesecake. It’s uplifting in small doses. I would listen more often because I appreciate that Lisa and Allie go deeper.

For the sweet baby Jesus love of God, Lisa STOP interrupting EVERYONE (especially Allie)! You undermine her expertise, it’s rude, and difficult to listen to your podcast (like sports announcers or politicians). I earned my Ph.D. a year ago. Congrats on ... more

  • Helpful through the Valleys

I just want to say this podcast blesses me so much. Listening to part 5 of the mountains and valleys podcast has me in tears at my work desk. I can so relate to Lisa in the fact that it’s easy up to a point to hide the tears and not face what needs to be faced. It makes me feel like I’m not alone. I’m so grateful ❤️

  • Difficult to concentrate

I was very excited to try this podcast but I could not make it through one episode- the constant noises of affirmation and constant interruptions were so distracting- it’s unfortunate because the women seem so knowledgeable but it just doesn’t work on this platform.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Reversal of Ruin: Genesis Pt. 1
Q: How does the introduction of the Sabbath play into a restoration of dignity?
The Sabbath is not punitive; it's an invitation to rest, indicating that one's worth is not based on work. It's a day for community and remembering God's love.
A-Maized by God’s Goodness
Q: If there was only one passage you could preach for the rest of your life on gratitude, what would it be?
First Thessalonians 5:16-18, where Paul encourages believers to rejoice always and give thanks in all circumstances.
What’s Wasabi Got to Do With It?
Q: How can we hold this supernatural and scripture-aided revelation of God's Word, which we believe is absolutely authoritative and inerrant for God's intended purpose?
I think we kind of embrace the tension and go, if I'm not walking away from Bible study more in love with Jesus, I'm not bringing the right heart to dive into these promises and parameters.
What’s Wasabi Got to Do With It?
Q: Could you just sort of dip your proverbial toes into the turbulent waters of this one question for us today? Who wrote the book of Hebrews?
It's one of those few books in scripture that that's a spicy part of it too. No one knows for sure.
A Compassionate Compulsion
Q: When you came to Christ, how did that happen?
Dr. Howard shares his journey from skepticism to faith, influenced by a Christian girlfriend and her family's warm, loving relationship with God, ultimately leading him to accept Jesus during a church visit.
