  • Not enough focus

As a newcomer to this podcast I don’t have the stamina to last through all the side talk and banter. The most recent episode as of this review didn’t get to any content even after 17 minutes. I gave up and tried another one and it was more of the same. I’m sure you are great guys, and other reviews mention useful content, but I moved on to others. I would love to get to the content faster, and stick with it.

  • Content is lacking

Listened to a couple episodes. One spent 60% of the 41 minutes talking about nothing as well as Peyton’s book deal. I would not describe this as content rich.

Maybe other episodes are better. I don’t have the time to find out.

  • My updated review after 9 years

I have been listening since 2015 started with Hardcore Church planting. I had to update my review. Pete your still the Man. Your Podcast has been a shield in my Armor. Thank you keep it up. I do miss smack talk at the beginning. I like to be tickled before the slap. Change is hard maybe one day I’ll start liking the slap first. May God and his word keep us uncomfortable and moving towards him.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

CPP #628 – Kris Langham on Media, Disciple-Making, and the Discipology Plan
Q: Can you explain what Through the Word is and how it works?
Through the Word is an audio guide for every chapter of the Bible, designed as a short, 10-minute format that explains the text, connects passages, and invites listeners to experience the Scripture rather than merely hear it, with translations and global reach.
CPP #628 – Kris Langham on Media, Disciple-Making, and the Discipology Plan
Q: Kris, before we get started, how did you come to Faith?
Kris describes coming to faith through listening to Bible teaching on the radio and a life-changing moment at spiritual sites, which led him to study Scripture and eventually found Through the Word to help others experience the Bible more accessibly.
CPP #636 – Brian Sanders on How Microchurches Grow Out of Mission
Q: Chicken of the age. Is it disciple making or church planning?
The hosts discuss that disciple making should precede church planning, emphasizing relational formation and mission-led growth rather than starting with a launch-focused model.
CPP #633 – John Teter and Larry Walkemeyer on The Making of a Multiplier
Q: How do the Four Seasons translate into real ministry practice?
Spring builds foundational character, Summer increases responsibility, Autumn focuses on legacy and mentoring, and Winter hands off leadership, ensuring ongoing multiplication rather than stagnation.
CPP #633 – John Teter and Larry Walkemeyer on The Making of a Multiplier
Q: What caused you to write The Making of a Multiplier?
A desire to help leaders finish well and to promote multiplication over mere numerical growth, inspired by mentors and the need to document a practical framework that works over a lifetime.
