  • Impressively good! More Martial Arts Please

Catholic and Martial arts has combined thank to Brazil’s Gracie family and the big catholic region that it is in that country. The Christ redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro is a clear example of the connection between the sport of MMA & Christ! Thanks be to god it’s a legit sport because of many amending of the rules making it a; less lethal violent sport, for lack of better wording (so please people save the politics on that). Enjoy the podcast! More martial arts Bruce Im listening!

CSR 392 Dick Vitale
Q: What is the latest update with your ongoing medical battles?
Vitale describes ongoing immunotherapy for cancer, including fatigue, and emphasizes staying positive and having faith as key to mental resilience.
CSR 387 Chris Massaro
Q: Chris, let's get started by having you share with us first where you were born and raised and what the family size was.
Chris describes growing up in Westchester, Pennsylvania in a family of three boys, with no early Catholic schooling but later involvement in the Newman Center and Catholic communities in college.
CSR 385 Rex Kesselring
Q: Can you walk us through the pivotal pre-game Mass and the post-game prayer circle on the field?
We arranged to attend Mass together the morning of the game, which brought a unique calm and unity. After the game, the post-game prayer circle included players from both teams, and Rex led the moment, underscoring that we play to glorify God, not ourselves.
CSR 385 Rex Kesselring
Q: Rex, how did you stay disciplined and focused when you moved thousands of miles away to pursue lacrosse at UTampa?
It came from the people around me—the teammates, coaches, and FCA group who kept faith and academics as priorities, reminding me that lacrosse would follow if I kept my foundation strong and prayed for guidance.
CSR 386 Jon Aliaga
Q: How has your faith intersected with the soccer programs you've led?
Faith informs the approach to teamwork, discipline, and brotherhood, with efforts to integrate Mass attendance, prayer groups, and parish connections into the athletic community.
