  • Easy to listen to!

I happened upon this podcast on the ascension app. I went and looked up the podcast and I enjoy learning about Mary, it just so happens that they have a whole season! I have listened to the entire season numerous times. Beyond that, I listen to all of the new episodes they publish. They are fun to listen to. The way they interact is just down right funny. They are both very knowledgeable about Catholicism and I look forward to learning more.

  • My Morning Cup of Coffee

I actually listen to the podcast at night time because I love the cadence of the podcast, but if you want to learn the intricacies of Christianity with a comedic lean mixed with hard-hitting scriptural truth, this is it. I’m hooked!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why Mercy is the Beginning of Mission
Q: What is the training and commitment like for missionaries?
Missionaries commit for a year, live in community, and receive thorough training through Clara Stevenson that emphasizes relational ministry, encounters with the women served, and ongoing formation throughout the year rather than a fixed retreat-based model.
Why Mercy is the Beginning of Mission
Q: Why did Move a Mountain Missions come together, and how did it start?
Dan Gallagher explains that the organization grew from collaborative efforts with Father Chris Donnelly, starting from youth ministry and mission trips, evolving into a dedicated nonprofit focused on serving the most vulnerable in Pittsburgh and beyond through programs like Gift of Mary and Brother Andres Cafe.
Bringing the Gospel to Inner City Kids
Q: Like if somebody feels called to do this, what are you looking for?
Two paths: a classic two-year lay mission track for young adults, with formation and community living, and a second path for older or married individuals seeking leadership opportunities, showing flexibility in who can contribute to Vagabond's mission.
When Sports and Faith Collide
Q: What does a typical prayer workout look like and what is its purpose?
The prayer workout is an hour-long, intense session mixing calisthenics with intercession, where participants name who they're praying for and recite scripture and prayers, aiming to unify physical exertion with spiritual intention for the athletes and their loved ones.
When Sports and Faith Collide
Q: How do you engage with coaches and athletic departments to reach athletes?
We enter through athletic departments with coaches or athletic directors, collaborate with campus ministry, and run evangelization activities like workouts and team-based prayer sessions to gain legitimacy and access on campuses.
