2025 Update - THANK YOU for posting your live show on the pod. I’ve missed you all sooo much! I’ve added some great women’s sports podcasts to my feed since the last burn pod, but they are missing your collective blend of journalistic and academic integrity. Thank you for this. Keep on burning on, not out!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

WNBA CBA deadline drama: Emma Baccellieri and Lindsay break down the labor fight
Q: I want to break in and break down where each side is, but first of all, what struck you the most about this onslaught of news that we got this week?
The breadth and public nature of the negotiations stood out; both sides are actively shaping the narrative and using the media to influence perception, which is unusual for sports labor talks and signals a shift toward treating this as a high-stakes public negotiation.
Interview: Steph Crugnola on Figure Skating at the Milan Olympics
Q: How does the scoring system in figure skating work?
The component score evaluates artistry and presentation, which can lead to perceived biases in scoring.
Interview: Steph Crugnola on Figure Skating at the Milan Olympics
Q: What's your favorite thing so far with figure skating in Milan?
The camaraderie among the U.S. women and their positive vibes are a highlight compared to traditional competitiveness in skating.
Ep. 271: Winter Olympics Preview, Part 2
Q: What event should we know more about?
I just want to remind everyone about how crazy and joyful snowboard and ski cross is, where multiple riders race down a snowy course with jumps and features.
Ep. 271: Winter Olympics Preview, Part 2
Q: What athletes are you watching?
I'm watching Alana Meyers Taylor, who is the most decorated black winter Olympian, back for her fifth Olympics and competing in both the monobob and the two-woman bobsled competition.
