Great duo to listen to. No major spoilers, can enjoy reviews without ruing the book. Very funny guys. Would be better with me as a third
I started with Daisy Jones & the Six and really enjoyed their conversation. Then I listened to their episodes on My Friends and The Handmaid, two books I couldn’t stand, as a way to find out what I missed. Fun way to do that and helped me pinpoint why I didn’t like the books!
Has everything you want. Can listen for days
I’ve listened to a lot of book club podcasts and this is one of my faves. It’s not stuffy, it’s funny, and I enjoy the guys thoughts.
The buddies book podcast is so unique in that it lets you into a story, but also takes you on wild tangents you didn’t know you needed. Similar to the ground breaking manningcast for the nfl, The buddies bring a fresh approach to a time honored tradition. Not only will you dive into a story, but you’ll also gain a plethora of knowledge on a variety of topics all while feeling like you are just hanging out having a good time. Great job buddies!

Two hosts run a casual, humorous book club-style show where they unpack popular and occasionally offbeat books, mixing sharp analysis with playful tangents and pop culture references. Episodes frequently feature a mix of thoughtful takes on themes, character dynamics, and storytelling craft, punctuated by light stock-up/stock-down segments and banter about modern life. The format is approachable and editorial, appealing to listeners who want book discussion that feels like hanging out with friends rather than a formal critique. Noteworthy traits include a breezy, relatable tone, willingness to challenge conventional opinions, and a strong emphasis on accessibility and humor that keeps conversations lively across a wide reading spectrum.
