  • No apologies necessary Tris.

I’ve read your article about Ricky for boxing scene and knowing your friendship with him, writing war and peace with him, having him on boxing life stories, I can only imagine how you must be feeling. Grief is a process, so take all the time you need. I look forward to your tribute to Ricky Hatton tribute in the future.

Tris, your Boxing Life Stories is an archive of excellence and the continuation with Boxing Conversations is also very impressive.

    Take care of yourself.

  • The Kid Can Interview

Bravo to Tris Dixon for his adaptation / addition to the (already Top Notch) Boxing Life Stories genre. Tris Dixon is clearly respected by his guests and, in contrast to most Boxing Podcasters, strikes a nice balance in his interviews, being neither too hectoring or too deferential, and thereby getting his guests to share interesting stuff about their journeys and aspirations. A very good, very insightful, listen for Boxing Fans. Many thanks in particular for the BLS that covered the likely revi... more

  • Great addition

Good stuff, the longer Boxing Life Stories are brilliant but they are few are far between these days so the new shorter “boxing conversations” are a decent addition as they are being released at a quick rate. Keep up the good work Tris.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ben Damon talks about the Tim Tszyu-Errol Spence, and a crazy week in Australia
Q: Do you think that Tim is now going to base himself in Australia and continue with that momentum, or will he try another base, perhaps in America?
He will definitely base himself in Australia; the move away from full-time US residence seems settled, and his comfort with home advantage plus Jeff Fennec's coaching makes future US-based camps a possibility but not a default.
Royston Barney-Smith | Garner Southampton superfight | Ben Davison | world title ambitions
Q: How did your relationship with Ben Davison start, and what have you learned from that experience?
I joined him as a teenager and learned that success comes from coachability, consistent training, and choosing the right trainer who believes in your potential.
Royston Barney-Smith | Garner Southampton superfight | Ben Davison | world title ambitions
Q: What is the main goal for you in the near term?
To cement myself as a true champion in my weight class and to pursue meaningful title opportunities rather than focusing on prestige fights.
Steven Cairns on building a social media profile, his pro journey and Dave Coldwell
Q: What's your mindset about criticism and controversial decisions in boxing?
Criticism is part of the sport, but you have to stay focused on your plan, not let detractors derail you, and trust in your own execution while waiting for the next opportunity to prove yourself.
Steven Cairns on building a social media profile, his pro journey and Dave Coldwell
Q: How important is social media in building your boxing career, and what's your approach to documenting the journey?
Social media is essential for visibility and opportunities; I document the process, share training and progress, and use it to attract tickets and sponsorship rather than chasing flashy moments.
