The Regime of the Brother is a book of psychoanalytic feminist theory (particularly leaning on Lacan), explaining why we no longer live in an Oedipal patriarchy, but rather live in a 'sham-Oedipus' regime of the brother. Neo-totemism, the primal hoar... more
Farthest Heaven is publishing some of the most exciting poetry and (soon!) fiction around today. I got to talk to the First Consul (an in-house naming convention) of Farthest Heaven, Bill Ballard, about book design, finding great authors, his approac... more
£, flesh and Femoid are a novella and novel, respectively, written by Aaron Barry and published by McBussy Publishing. Both star poorly-adjusted female leads suffering terminal brainrot, and both are written in a dense, internet-inflected style.

After finishing American Psycho, I searched for a podcast that would do a deeper dive into the themes and interpretations of the book. This was not it.
I find it totally bizarre that one of the hosts had recently read the book and both hosts repeatedly get important facts wrong.
Seems like zero research or thoughtfulness went into the episode. Sounds like two buddies bantering over beers. And I don't even trust their opinion because they don't know Lewis marries Courtney.

Love the online-ish humor & that they even read manifestos. Analysis can be very insightful and wide-ranging. Covers all dif politics and whackos and classics. Well-researched on backgrounds. Good companion to lit Twitter.
From all accounts from trysted sources, this is as modern a podcast as the current housing crisis in Australia. It’s as if cult classics like Office Space and The Craft birthed these storytellers which ironically almost have nothing to do with books or literature. Take my word for it, I haven’t even listened to it, you’ll be pleased with what you hear. I plan to listen to it on my upcoming holiday
You guys are awesome! Hard to find podcasts that are both “dark” and brainy. This one’s among the few. In the event that this review is seen, please consider doing an episode on THE ANATOMY OF MELANCHOLY. It’s primordial “woo” and totally insane.
I love these guys even though they're libtards
