  • Interesting

I notice the shows have gotten shorter over the years. It’s also interesting with the show getting political over the years, the hosts never hit the topic of Gaza…& yet Jon has decided to work with a rabid supporter of the actions being done to Gaza, & to Palestinians in general

  • CEO? Schnaars?

How does a CEO of The Horror Section, for a prominent horror director, proudly say he’s not on any social media platform or surfs the interwebs???? Way to stay current in an ever changing world - especially in the entertainment industry. While you’re sittting in your horse & buggy, reading a newspaper, fumbling for your pager & blackberry, I can hear Eli Roth’s investments flushing down the drain.

  • Actual real opinions

Love the show and have been enjoying it for a while now mainly due to the fact that the hosts are real about the fact that 90% of modern horror movies are shallow, underwritten, boring and make no sense. Some people may see this honesty as being negative. And to those people I can only say you probably need to go elsewhere if you can’t handle people

Not enjoying things. The crew want the bad movies to be good and look for the tiniest bit of positivity but I love that they don’t kiss the directo... more

  • Longtime listener struggling with the show

I have been listening to BGH for close to ten years now. I really appreciated the effort they made to make the hosts more diverse after #MeToo, and the show definitely improved when they added more women and LGBTQ guests. I am just begging you all to stop covering BIPOC horror if you aren’t going to bring on people from those communities to balance out uninformed opinions. Their takes on Sinners during the end of year show made it clear that they didn’t even bother to read or listen to any other... more

  • Issues with main host

The reviews and content are excellent but the main host Eric interrupts his co hosts and speaks over them like it’s his hydrant to piss on. It’s infuriating and prevents me from being able to listen. I’ve witnessed some of the other hosts just give up and question what they are doing on the show. Eric if you read this, your co hosts are too nice to say anything to your face because how domineering you can be.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Do the Wayans brothers actually LIKE horror? Scary Movie (2026) and what makes a GOOD horror parody
Q: What was your funniest moment from the movie?
The Long Legs gag delivered by Chris Elliott stood out as a perfect blend of a familiar character with a contemporary horror in-joke, while others cited Shaq and certain one-off bits as memorable, though opinions varied on overall humor quality.
Frogman Returns director Anthony Cousins | Interview
Q: How does the sequel differ from the original in terms of tone and scope?
The sequel expands the world with a bigger, more comedy-forward tone while still retaining the found-footage vibe and practical effects, aiming to feel more like a character-driven story rather than a pure in-your-face horror piece.
"Entertaining mess" - The Bride, horror review
Q: Would you want to see a director's cut or more material that clarifies the Bride's arc?
Several participants express curiosity for a director's cut that delves deeper into the Bride's agency and memory, suggesting that a tighter version could crystallize the intended through-line.
"Entertaining mess" - The Bride, horror review
Q: Does the film succeed in its feminist aims, or does it get distracted by its influences?
The group argues it's visually bold and conceptually brave, but the narrative sometimes loses focus under its barrage of references; still, the core idea of female rage as engine for transformation lands with provocative intent.
"Entertaining mess" - The Bride, horror review
Q: What did you think of Jessie Buckley's performance as The Bride?
Buckley's performance was a fearless, boundary-pushing portrayal that elevates the film's ambition, even as the through-line sometimes falters. It's volatile, hypnotic, and central to the movie's tonal impact.
