  • Great show!

John was a great host. We dug into the details of scaling from small multifamily to midsize multifamily properties. He understands the nuances of scaling a company and asked insightful questions. He has a thoughtful approach to his interviews. I recommend John and The Best Ever CRE Show.

  • Love the show, but…

This show is in my queue every day. Love the content! One thing that I find detrimental is that some of the interviewers constantly interrupt the guests. Aside from that, please keep up the great shows!

  • Great content, horrible production

The content on this prodcasf is great, they cover many different sections of CRE. Also a fan of the multiple hosts. The only negative is their production, the volume from the guest and host are often very far apart. Also background thunder sound for the lighting round is obnoxiously loud and completely unnecessary

JF 4201: The Office as a Service: Third-Party Management and the Future of CRE ft. Matt Faupel
Q: Give me the main core components that it takes to maintain an office building today, the top three things Best Ever listeners should focus on when running Class A assets.
The core components are (1) a current and actionable emergency operations plan with updated contacts and shutoffs, (2) a standardized, cross-functional team with clear decision rights and tabletop drills, and (3) integrated safety, security, and IT considerations that balance on-site leadership with third-party capabilities to maintain performance and tenant experience.
JF 4201: The Office as a Service: Third-Party Management and the Future of CRE ft. Matt Faupel
Q: Without breaking confidentiality, give me a couple of examples of things that have come up during working with first responders or things you've had to implement to accommodate safety plans.
There have been incidents from campus firearm events to water system disruptions where rapid access, coordination with campus police, and pre-planned shutoffs allowed responders to secure the site, protect tenants, and minimize impact, while the property team deployed on-site protocols and coordinated with emergency services.
JF 4197: Secrets of Fund Management ft.Tyson Cobb
Q: So yeah, why don't you just give us like the real quick bullet points about what you do, where you're at right now.
Tyson explains his background in orthopedic medicine, moving into real estate, and how Timberview Capital raises capital by serving high-net-worth individuals, focusing on culture and a scalable process.
JF 4202: EV Charging as a Multifamily Amenity, Financing Infrastructure and Future-Proofing Assets ft. Ben Kanner
Q: Walk me through the onboarding process for a property
The process starts with collecting a portfolio list, then running data-driven analyses using sources like CoStar and DMV EV registrations to project utilization over 5-10 years, determining how many chargers to install today and when to install more, followed by presenting terms and investment options.
JF 4191: Scaling Capital Aggregation, Launching Trident and Fund to Funds Growth ft. Brittany Barchalk
Q: What is Trident?
Trident is a one-stop shop for fund-to-funds, allowing efficient capital raising and servicing of investors.
