Ash butterss - thank you. Ash gives herself and holds space for guests so beautifully. I am forever grateful for this podcast. Thanks to ash sharing so much of her self and path, I too have found myself stepping into the rooms of AA. Though sober before I started behind the smile (but only just), ash has opened my world up to meditation, wellbeing, prayer and now of course AA-the power plug! You are saving peoples lives ash-just by being you and sharing. Thank you 🫶🏻

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 145. Psychologist Dr. Julia Nicholls Opens Up About Her Personal Battle with Psychosis and Post-Natal Depression
Q: What advice would you have for somebody by way of seeking out help?
It's important to talk to a GP or a mental health helpline such as Panda or Lifeline for support.
Ep 146. Haunted by the Badge: Jay Prothero’s Battle with PTSD and Redemption
Q: At what point did you realize, I need help here, I need to stop self-medicating with alcohol, I need to search for other avenues?
The realization came for Prothero when he was put on medication, which he initially associated with stigma and his career as a police officer. The need to find a better way to cope led him to explore breathwork and meditation.
Ep 142. Why Outward Success Will Never Be Enough, with Nick Jonsson
Q: What would you say to men specifically who perhaps are working in a corporate job, who are feeling disconnected?
I completely agree that men are usually less vulnerable than women, and they often struggle in isolation, missing out on important support networks.
Ep 140. From Not Leaving the House to Living Fully: Justine Youl on Recovering from Addiction and Abuse
Q: You mentioned that your brother passed away. What has been most helpful for you to navigate that?
It comes in waves. I know that I need to get out, I need to put the action in, and then I get the benefit.
Ep 140. From Not Leaving the House to Living Fully: Justine Youl on Recovering from Addiction and Abuse
Q: So when did you start drinking?
I would have started drinking probably around 14 or 15.
