Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 1458: EL SALTO IS BACK (JOSH DANIELS FROM PRO BASS ADVENTURES)
Q: What changes have allowed El Salto to reopen for tourism, and when did this happen?
El Salto was closed due to conflicts but recently, after assessments with the local government and discussion with the Tilapia Federation, authorities opened it again for tours, with green light given and boats back on the water for the next season.
Episode 1454: A LOT HAS CHANGED (MILES BURGHOFF ON THE WATER)
Q: What's your big-picture view on which circuit to stay with or move to next year?
He says sponsorships and future look are still on the table, leaning toward ML F if it supports longevity and growth, but acknowledges the uncertainty and the possibility of NPFL depending on sponsorship and checks.
Episode 1454: A LOT HAS CHANGED (MILES BURGHOFF ON THE WATER)
Q: Did you anticipate the shift back to the Opens and Pro Circuit would require such adaptability to new tech and longer-term consistency?
Yes, he explains that embracing new technologies like live scope and adjusting his practice time to fit family responsibilities are key to staying competitive and sustainable over the long term.
Episode 1408: RANKING THE 2026 BASSMASTER CLASSIC (WITH MATT STEFAN)
Q: What are your overall thoughts on the TV and online coverage of the Classic, and how did it compare to past years?
The coverage was largely solid, with a stronger emphasis on actual fishing and less showroom chatter, and the pairings of the live stream with TV were praised for keeping anglers and action in view, though some felt the Fox recap on Sunday diluted the immediacy of the live feed and would have preferred a purer handoff to Fox.
Episode 1451: CATCHING BASS ON GLASS CALM DAYS (DAY 4 #247 WITH FRANK SCALISH)
Q: What are the best approaches for grass lakes on slick days?
Start with early topwater lightly, then target outside grass edges with subtle plastics and rigs; punch mats in shallow grass; use a Ned rig and Flick Shake on deeper grass edges; deploy a slow, methodical search using live scope to locate irregularities; finish with crankbaits that provoke a reaction bite along the grass edge.
