  • HQ for Cleveland Sports

I’ve been listening to these guys for all of my adult life (and I’m old) but I don’t live in Cleveland any more. This show helps ease my pain and I’ve been listening to this show since the beginning but I haven’t rated until now because I had to speak my peace.

The BA & BA (Brian Andersons) episode was TREMENDOUS! I had to pause the show multiple times to catch my breath and my face hurt from laughing.

Keep bringing Cleveland sports to the masses guys. Thank you!

  • Baskin & Phelps Podcast

I enjoy Jeff & Andy’s honesty. I also enjoy Packer Fan Dan as well chiming in.

Their perspectives are usually very well thought out, and communicated.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Hour 3: Mike Petriello + How can the Guardians fix their lineup?
Q: What explains the Guardians' ABS struggles?
Petriello explains it's not just the raw overturns but the context of when challenges occur, plus a mismatch between personnel and decision-making, and a broader issue with lineup construction that hasn't optimized plate appearances against lefties and righties.
Hour 4: Gary Washburn + LeBron's legacy
Q: Have they replaced the beer yet after the Scottish soccer fans drank you guys dry?
A light-hearted closer aside noting fan enthusiasm around events (World Cup in Boston) and the ongoing chatter about team fandom and city pride, not a substantive league move.
Hour 4: Gary Washburn + LeBron's legacy
Q: Does LeBron come to Cleveland? Does he go to Miami?
The discussion centers on LeBron's potential destinations as a storyline drivers, with options including Cleveland, Miami, or Golden State, and emphasis on how the decision would reshape narratives and competitive balance.
Hour 4: Gary Washburn + LeBron's legacy
Q: So why make the trade? What was it about Jalen Brown and the Celtics that apparently the Celtics organization felt, we got to move on from this guy?
Washburn suggests the organization wanted an aggressive upgrade and was willing to move Brown for a return that they viewed as better positioning the team for the future, even if it sparked fan backlash and questions about trust in Brad Stevens's plan.
Gary Washburn: the trust for Brad Stevens has begun to decline
Q: Why did the Celtics decide to move on from Jaylen Brown, and what did they hope to gain?
The team seemed to prioritize restructuring around different assets and financial constraints, aiming for a better long-term fit and capital in return, even if it meant taking a short-term hit and facing fan skepticism.
