  • Audio

Good content; however, the host’s audio equipment is very poor and an unfortunate distraction. It seems I am not the only one making note of this.

  • Good show but need to QC sound prior to releasing.

I like the topic and guests on this show. However, Lauren’s audio gear leaves a lot to be desired. Her sound quality is about the worst of any podcast I’ve listened to.

  • Horrible audio‼️⁉️

Today Lauren had someone pressing a pillow on her face!!! Horrible audio… please do a gofundme to buy a mic

Why are your guests talking with a pillow on their mouth?? If your guests are dialing in then All you need to do is ask them to use a wired headphone. How hard is it? Why wouldn’t you just care enough to ask them to use one??

  • Microphone/sound

I would really like if the Hostess would get a better microphone, it is terrible sound with her voice pitch, it is easily fixed by a quality microphone or hire a sound producer/editor

  • Solid

As others have said, Lauren is middlin’ but Ben is excellent. He does all of the heavy lifting. He’s candid, owns his missed picks. I really enjoy his content. I wish they did the show more than once a week.

I’ve never had the trouble with audio that others have complained about. Perhaps I’m just an old and remember the days of genuinely poor audio.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Navigating Market Volatility with Nuveen's Saira Malik
Q: How do you view private credit within a diversified portfolio, given AI exposures and liquidity considerations?
Private credit remains a meaningful part of a diversified portfolio, but it requires careful scrutiny of liquidity, quality of managers, and the extent of software exposure in underlying borrowers. A 50-30-20 mix with illiquid alternatives is suggested for balanced risk management.
Navigating Market Volatility with Nuveen's Saira Malik
Q: What is your take on the MAG 7 stocks in this uncertain environment, and do you have a favorite outside that group?
The MAG 7 are no longer a blanket buy; you need selectivity and a willingness to look beyond the group. Netflix remains a favorite, Broadcom is cited as a non-MAG7 example, and Alphabet is also favored within the group due to AI-driven ad targeting and entities like YouTube and Waymo.
Navigating Market Volatility with Nuveen's Saira Malik
Q: Why is Netflix considered a winner in an AI- disrupted landscape, and how does it fit into your portfolio thesis?
Netflix is viewed as a moat-protected platform with strong subscribers, pricing power, and strategic AI-driven cost efficiencies (like the Interpositive acquisition) that can improve margins and speed to market, making it one of the preferred AI-enabled holdings despite broader tech disruption.
Confessions of a (Highly Successful) Value Investor
Q: Under what circumstances would you sell Capital One?
If the return on equity permanently deteriorates due to a change in business dynamics or a shift in competitive advantages, we would reassess; otherwise, at a low multiple and with potential for margin expansion and ROE growth, we view Capital One as a long-term compounder with a favorable risk/reward at current prices.
Confessions of a (Highly Successful) Value Investor
Q: What is your view of the broader market and how has the Iran conflict changed that view?
We start from the premise that valuation matters; at 26 times earnings the starting point for optimistic returns requires favorable outcomes, and we expect active management to outperform only after a period of caution and better price discipline. The Iran situation and other transitions add uncertainty, so our stance is cautiously constructive with a focus on select financials that can navigate higher rates and tech shifts.
