  • Great investing podcast

They’re clear it’s not investing advice, but I get a lot of ideas from the guests. Very excellent podcast.

  • Seeking Vindication

Inane presenters looking for headline ‘bets’ coupled with analysts trying to provide nuance…often a painful listen. Additionally guests are frequently “gurus” buying into manias (crypto or buy Nvidia at $400). There are certainly more serious places for insight out there.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Micron, Credo, Lumentum: 3 AI strong buys
Q: So, what made you pick these three specifically out of the top tech stocks?
We ran a screen and the screen showed all these stocks toward the top of the screen, which is why I selected Micron, Lumentum, and Credo—their growth rates and fundamentals stood out compared to the rest of the IT universe, making them the strongest top picks at this moment.
AI capex surge, bottlenecks, and the race for ROI
Q: What are the two main themes you see dominating the AI hardware cycle in 2026?
The top themes are ROI on AI CapEx—how quickly capex translates into revenue and margin gains—and the acceleration of vertical integration through custom silicon by hyperscalers, which could reshape margins and competitive dynamics.
The cure for FOMO with Tech Contrarians
Q: How are you digesting the news of a potential geopolitical resolution and its impact on tech equities?
I see the news as a relief that could ease near-term pressure on supply chains and earnings, but the long-term trajectory will depend on policy and actual execution, so investors should stay focused on fundamentals rather than headlines.
UnitedHealth, Hims & Hers, Gambling.com - value investing with Raul Shah
Q: What do you think are the biggest risks for Hims, UnitedHealthcare, and Gambling.com in the near term?
Regulatory and policy headwinds are key risks, especially for healthcare and online gambling. However, if the businesses can defend margins, maintain growth, and manage debt, the long-term opportunities look compelling given disruption in traditional models.
UnitedHealth, Hims & Hers, Gambling.com - value investing with Raul Shah
Q: What is your approach to value investing and how does it apply to current market conditions?
I look for conservative valuations, a large margin of safety, and the ability for the business to generate cash flow over time. I assess margin expansion potential, competitive dynamics, and the ability to raise prices when needed, while avoiding emotional decisions.
