  • Barron’s

Very little about actual investment planning. It’s basically an attempt to highlight how women and minorities are amazing but those white men are just bad.

  • Sad to witness

First WSJ turns woke... then Barron's. I'm sorry, I don't need to hear from Barry Ritholtz, who developed his NYC firm with blogs that promoted anti-conservativism, Trump-hate, etc., to learn how to develop content. This May 2023 episode belongs in 2016 when Barry was in the business paying these people for their nonsense extra blogs that helped no one with their personal finances or investing issues.

Dynasty's Shirl Penney: 10 Things RIA Buyers and Sellers Need to Know
Q: What is the first thing buyers should be clear about when pursuing M&A?
Buyers should be crystal clear about what they are looking for and what they are not, including the type of cultural fit and end clients served, to avoid falling in love with a deal that isn't right.
Tom Freeman: How Top Advisors Find and Serve Ultrawealthy Clients
Q: What keeps family wealth from becoming a burden as it grows?
We use a service menu of 48 tasks to cover everything from investments and tax minimization to governance and lifestyle services, acting as a general contractor to coordinate all providers so nothing falls through the cracks. Regular family meetings and proactive involvement help maintain harmony and prevent friction.
Tom Freeman: How Top Advisors Find and Serve Ultrawealthy Clients
Q: How do you approach preparing for a first meeting with a billionaire client?
I start with a detailed set of questions to reaffirm my understanding of their objectives, then let them talk while I listen and probe with follow-up questions. I always ask about the purpose of their wealth and its goals for family harmony, which guides the services I propose and helps tailor a comprehensive plan.
Anthony Scaramucci: How Inflation and Populism Change Financial Advice
Q: What policies could be put in place to help the economy grow without exacerbating the deficit?
Scaramucci outlines a long-range, policy-driven approach including constitutional amendments to reduce partisan gerrymandering, ending Citizen United, a 25-year plan to slow the growth of government while fostering 3-4% GDP growth, investment in education, healthcare reform, and a robot tax to address productivity dislocations.
Rob Nelson: Nine Converging Forces in Financial Advice
Q: What keeps you optimistic about the future of the profession amid these changes?
The Jevons Paradox suggests that as advice becomes more accessible and affordable through AI and digital tools, demand increases, spurring further innovation and new career opportunities, including roles and jobs that didn't exist before, while advisors remain central to guiding clients through complex decisions.
