  • Barron’s

Very little about actual investment planning. It’s basically an attempt to highlight how women and minorities are amazing but those white men are just bad.

  • Sad to witness

First WSJ turns woke... then Barron's. I'm sorry, I don't need to hear from Barry Ritholtz, who developed his NYC firm with blogs that promoted anti-conservativism, Trump-hate, etc., to learn how to develop content. This May 2023 episode belongs in 2016 when Barry was in the business paying these people for their nonsense extra blogs that helped no one with their personal finances or investing issues.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Mollie Colavita: The Blueprint for Modern Advisory Success
Q: What does it mean for advisors to act like CEOs, and how is that mindset cultivated in teams?
Acting like CEOs means taking ownership of strategy, people management, and the client experience; this is cultivated through leadership-focused workshops, diagnostics of team dynamics, and explicit discussions about roles, responsibilities, and succession planning.
Nate Fisher: Stay Focused on the Client Relationship | Next Gen
Q: What do you emphasize to clients during a transition to reassure them nothing essential about their relationship changes?
Focus on continuity of access and trust; reassure that you are still the same advisors and that you now have more services, while keeping the same look and feel to maintain confidence.
Nate Fisher: Stay Focused on the Client Relationship | Next Gen
Q: Now folks who are maybe going through that transition, any advice for them?
Have your team ready for the lift, prepare for compliance and due diligence, and communicate with clients early and honestly to manage expectations and reduce surprises.
Robert Crossley: AI Agents Are Coming for Your Clients' Cash Flow
Q: So I want to start with, give me the high-level overview of what's in this research and what some of your main conclusions are.
Crossley explains they interviewed over $18 trillion in US assets and over 50 interviews, finding that needs are changing faster than the industry can adapt; the retirement system is outgrown by new work models, gig economies, and multi-job lifestyles, which demand more personalized, income-focused strategies and broader, trust-based relationships beyond product-centric advice.
Stan Gregor: What Changes When Revenue Reaches—Then Tops—$5 Million
Q: What advice do you have for those firms to say, here's what makes a firm partnerable?
Firms need to ensure they have a track record, bring significant value to their partnerships, and create an environment that fosters growth and adaptability while being aware of the operational and financial health of potential partners.
