Okay pod, but would be much better if the presenters focused on finding exclusives rather than what they’ve eaten.

  • What is the point

Express and star in general has gone downhill, behind paywalls etc… but this is just pointless now. Luke and Joe used to provide insight and create a connection with fans.

This new format is a hard listen, the lead guy isn’t listening half the time, on his phone or scrolling his laptop, Lewis is alright and tries his best, but it’s a tough gig

  • Gone downhill

Not the same any more. Joe Masi used to provide exclusive insights, give opinions, delve quite deep into the serious subjects.

It’s become a talksport-esque podcast now with cliche after cliche, “banter”, fan views that nobody really cares for. Be more Masi, less AJ please.

  • Decent

Okay pod, and sound is generally better since the other presenters moved on. But this week is unlistenable with the stadium soundtrack drowning out all dialogue.

Listeners Say

Key themes from listener reviews, highlighting what works and what could be improved about the show.

Listeners value the club-specific context and candid takes less filtered by traditional media.
Production and audio quality are uneven across episodes, a common criticism.
Fans praise deep Albion insight and strong host banter, with guests boosting credibility.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S9 E46: Spending power, strikers and big season review!
Q: How do you think the new financial guidelines will help or hinder Albion?
The consensus is that the squad cost ratio and the ability for limited owner injections will give Albion more flexibility to spend carefully, with a caveat that overall spending still needs to be realistic and balanced with revenue streams; there is skepticism about competitive parity with bigger clubs but optimism about improved flexibility.
S9 E36: Better Baggies but wins required!
Q: Would you keep the current 4-4-2 shape if Phillips and Bela return and what about Deakete's place?
Yes, they'd likely stick with the 4-4-2 given the positives from recent performances, and decisions about Deakete's involvement would depend on his fitness and the squad balance for the next match.
S9 E36: Better Baggies but wins required!
Q: How many points do you think we need and where are we getting them from?
We need roughly 15-16 points from the last nine games, which likely means winning about four of those games and picking up at least a few key results at home, given the tough remaining fixtures.
S9 E35: Acceptance and Morrison home truths!
Q: As we are not yet in total free fall and still outside the bottom three, do we just go for bust and play the kids that actually do care or stick with the team?
The hosts suggest that playing kids like Oli Bostock might be the way forward as the senior players have shown a lack of bravery to take responsibility.
S9 E29: When you thought it couldn't get worse!
Q: Where do Albion go from here?
The current situation is precarious, and it is crucial for the players to show determination and fight to avoid relegation.
