  • Yes, ladies. Yes.

I like this show and the guests.

Mona asks really good questions. Jeanette has warmth. You both feed off of each other well. I love the fashion too. You are doing a good job.

Since this is also on YouTube, don’t let your guests come on with bad wigs. Rachel looked a mess and ungroomed. But the same is on her podcast.

Eboni was my favorite guest. The cussing takes me aback, but her lived experience is so worth discussing. This episode honestly helped to prep me for an interview.

  • Inspiration

I really enjoyed the rebranding episode so much it was a topic of conversation in my weekly work meeting and also an association at my job. The words seem to be more intention than just saying I want to do this, then you focus on that one thing.

  • Hard Pass

After a listen, I honestly can’t say I’d tune in again. Mona seems very inauthentic. Jeanette, I liked. Hard to waste my limited time on a host that isn’t genuine.

[Go Awf] WeezyWTF on Sex, Shame & Why Marriage Still Validates Women
Q: How did you fight societal shame at an early age when family safety nets weren't the issue, but external pressures were?
By cultivating a strong sense of self, building a trusted circle, and recognizing that many judgments come from insecurity rather than reality, which allowed me to own my choices.
[Go Awf] WeezyWTF on Sex, Shame & Why Marriage Still Validates Women
Q: What has what you do taught you about yourself, but also society? What's been the most surprising thing?
It shows that society is built on pretenses; people project beliefs about sexuality and relationships, while individuals often navigate their own truths and communities to stay grounded and authentic.
[Go Awf] Sergio Hudson on The Hidden Costs of Scaling a Fashion Brand
Q: What were your thoughts on that when you first saw the news come out?
Seeing a strong, rapidly growing black-owned label pause operations underscores how fragile growth can be, and why it's important to have robust systems and scalable partnerships to sustain momentum.
[Go Awf] Sergio Hudson on The Hidden Costs of Scaling a Fashion Brand
Q: Not for real. This is Awf The Record. I wanted to get your thoughts on Hanifa temporarily pausing operations.
The pause illustrates the gap between public perception of success and the intense behind-the-scenes work and risk of managing a fast-growing brand, including staffing, warehousing, and fulfilling complex orders.
Sergio Hudson: Michelle Obama, Beyoncé & The Brutal Truth About Black Designers
Q: How did it feel when Michelle Obama wore his design at the inauguration?
Hudson explains the moment as a transformative turning point that elevated the brand, led to immediate demand, and opened doors with major retailers, while underscoring a sense of responsibility to his craft and customers.
