  • Unique black girl magic

I really do enjoy this podcast before and after the rebrand. Thank you for being honest and vocal about the rebrand and what you were trying to do and being brave enough to actually do it although people expect more of the same from you. Real life conversations and some inspiring ones that aren’t so relatable, but are great to hear bc they are thought provoking! Keep them coming

  • Love to See a Brave Evolution

I’m honestly so shocked to see the bad reviews from the rebrand. Yes, I get it, “lucky” culture can feel kind of trendy and a gimmick. But under the title are encouraging, inspiring, and motivating conversation. In a genre dominated by white men, these are the stories from thriving Black women that I want to hear. In fact, my boyfriend subscribed as a joke but is now a listener because he found the conversations so insightful.

So let’s be real—Will I miss Balanced Black Girl? Yes. But does tha... more

  • The Push to Keep Growing

Les is such a great interviewer and these conversations have been encouraging me and challenging me. I am love the shift and I love the conversation, they are impactful, they are challenging in all the right ways that cause you to want to be better, show up better and do better.

  • Disappointed

I’ve been a listener for years and will not be following this podcast anymore. I’ve listened as Les has turned into a creator that seems to “fuss” at her listeners for simply being invested/supportive and asking questions. Making comments to her listeners such as “use your words” is unprofessional and creating exactly the opposite of a safe space for Black women. She seems more sensitive since leaving corporate and definitely appears to be selling out her authenticity for influencer culture. Go ... more

  • Erasure Disguised as Evolution

I became a listener back when this show was Balanced Black Girl, and what drew me in was the honesty and community-centered conversations for Black women. It was a space where we were seen and supported. That’s what kept me coming back.

The rebrand to She’s So Lucky feels less like evolution and more like erasure. Carrying over all the past episodes and reviews under a new name without acknowledging the shift is misleading. These five-star ratings were for Balanced Black Girl, not for this new ... more
