I had forgotten what it was to crave. Start listening and remember, too. Positively delicious book and podcast.

Can't believe I'm the first to review this

An interesting journey with two children who are searching for their mother in a very unusual underworld, peopled by an eclectic group of characters. The journey started with domestic tension, moving to tragedy to fantasy. Sometimes the story is childlike then creepy then as I've reached the end of book one intense horror. Wow, what a mix.

  • Listen to this story!!!!!!

After listening to more podcasts than I can remember, this is one of the MOST memorable!! I just finished a 4 day marathon of this story and I am sorry that the epic journey is over. • Not quite there

By and large, I recommend this book, but it had its problems. As a novel, it needs an editor to clean it up. For example, the author seemed obsessed with characters not recognizing what pronouns refer to. (e.g. of the form "I love squibbets." "What are those?" "What are what?"). I believe there was a point to doing this, but he killed it by including it in almost every conversation until I could actually predict the next line of dialogue. An editor would've caught that. This may seem petty, bu... more
