  • Excellent podcast for AAPI community

This is a really informative but fun podcast, made lighter due to the cheerful hosts. I appreciate that they focus on making the present better by learning about the past, and they highlight AAPI people who don’t always get the spotlight (sorry but tired of hearing about actors). It’s balanced and one of the better AAPI focused podcasts out there

  • Learned So Much!

Gen and Ted have covered so much I didn’t know about Asian American (and sometimes Canadian) history. Recent example—the anti-Filipino riots in Seattle in the 20th century. I also appreciate the interviews with current Asian American artists and other talented people. Examples—Grace Lin, children’s book author, and Sarah Myer, graphic novelist.

  • Love love love this podcast!

I found this by chance and totally fell in love with this podcast. This father/daughter duo present the AAPI history in easily digestible episodes and in a fun, friendly manner. It feels like you’re having dinner with friends rather than sitting in a lecture hall.

  • So important and relevant.

Thank you thank you for creating this podcast. I didn’t learn any of this in our American History courses. Now that several states are moving to pull funding from public schools for teaching children “too much” about America’s history of slavery and racism. Your podcast is more relevant and important than ever. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this. I hope you keep going for a long time!
