  • An ROR Owner’s Essential

All Aboard the Racecourse is essentially the ROR Guide for Dummies - I impatiently wait each week for a new episode to muck the stables out to and spend the whole hour nodding and agreeing and feeling seen. These Pod Casts are relatable, informative and Louise shares her fountain of knowledge as well as bringing on great speakers to share their stories and advice as well. Things aren’t sugar coated and edited to perfection they are real, understandable and that’s what sets them apart.

Episode 63: Pat Cummings; National Thoroughbred Alliance, the SAFE act on preventing Thoroughbreds being in Kill pens
Q: What are the biggest challenges in funding and organizing aftercare today, and how can they be addressed?
He identifies lack of funding, organizational infrastructure, and clear governance as core issues, arguing for top-down leadership, better traceability, and a funded program model supported by industry stakeholders.
Episode 60- Jennifer Krawczyk: My racing life Australia and AfterCare Projects in Australia
Q: Do you think the transition of racing is given enough care and consideration?
Yes, it can always be improved, but models like MyRacehorse show how a dedicated transition process and a safety net can make transitions more reliable and financially feasible, reducing the risk for owners and increasing welfare outcomes for the horses.
Episode 41: Lesley Sayers and Second Brook-RoR Horse of the Year 2025 Nominee

They definitely found me. I didn't want a Thoroughbred.
