I like the idea behind this podcast and I also like that the presenters are two dads. Many kids book podcasts have women/mums as hosts. It is refreshing and great role modelling to have dads discussing books.
Hope this podcast continues. Also, probably not a bad idea to include some more recent/modern books
I’ve been listening to this podcast since a few months after they began, and I love it. Based on the hosts' discussions, I’ve purchased several books that have quickly become household favorites. I’ve also gifted others a number of the books reviewed here. Ben and Nick provide not only an interesting discussion about each book, but also an ongoing conversation about big questions related to children’s literature. Are children’s books meant to remind a parent about what it’s like to be a child? S... more
This is an excellent podcast for anyone who has been touched and formed by the stories he/she read as a child and young adult.
As fathers to young children, Ben and Nick talk about the books they are revisiting while raising their own children. Love listening to these two review Children’s books. As a loving aunt that is lucky enough to join in on the bedtime ritual of reading bedtime stories this gives me fresh ideas on new (and old) books to read to my little ones. There is a delightful sense of nostalgia with an analytical twist that satisfies both the heart and mind. Looking forward to hearing more from Nick and Ben!
I love listening in to Ben and Nick’s hilarious and insightful conversations about children’s books. Can’t wait for more episodes!
This podcast is delightful! I find myself wanting to join the conversation, laughing and thinking along the way. I can’t wait see what books are next!
Nick and Ben provide a delightfully light-hearted and contemplative analysis of the books that mark our childhood. Their discussions bring to light the fact that our beloved childhood bedtime books are so much more than just stories and that perhaps the way a child experiences a book is different than the parent’s interpretation. This podcasts makes you want to max out your library card, grab your kiddos, and delve into the wonderful world of children’s books.
Fun to listen to and helpful in finding great children’s stories as well as thought-provoking about the deeper things going on with the stories we love/hate to read
Ben and Nick are simultaneously light-hearted and thorough as they take a deep dive analyzing and discussing the books our kids love.
