Oh hey, you can finally write a review from the app instead of having to log in on your computer. WHAT A CONCEPT. Anyway, that means it’s time for me to finally write a review for this amazing show. As a follower of video game history it’s easy to fall prey to the revisionist histories you see in hot take articles or YouTube videos from people who weren’t there. This is a rare and special form of history through oral recollection that we need more of, and Bill is a heck of a podcast editor! Do n... more
I found out about Bill’s podcast thanks to Twitter. I have had the pleasure of guesting on his show to discuss EarthBound, and he is as kind and warm “in person” as he is hosting the show. more
A Gamer Looks At 40 has become one of my favorite podcasts. It’s like poring over a family photo album in podcast form. A totem of treasured gaming memories from the people who lived them. Bill’s ability to guide us through a collection of memories from a varied cast of guests that all bring different perspectives is truly remarkable. The fact that the topic at hand is some of the greatest video games ever made is a nice bonus.
This is such a great game to sit back, relax and listen to and be transported back in time, it’s perfect! Thanks so much for the brilliant work you do.
Love shows looking back on older generations of games, such a nostalgia filled trip. Great show.
