Given how well he knew me as a person and a player, I was willing to take the opportunity to join him at Creighton and continue pursuing my basketball career, believing in the long-term fit and the chance to compete at a higher level.

Coach Huss loved the game, was a student of basketball, and brought a clear plan for my role; his approach felt like a natural fit for my ambitions, which is why I trusted him and decided to follow him to High Point to chase a bigger impact.

Q: You're from Canada... when you realized you were a good basketball player, did you think that coming south was going to be your future?
I felt that the highest level of college basketball was in the United States, so I didn't seriously consider staying in Canada; I wanted to pursue the best opportunity and worked to get noticed by tournaments and schools, ultimately choosing a program where I could grow and contribute.

Owen attributed the improved finishing to working his way back into game shape, gaining familiarity with where to attack, and relying on the coaching plan and teammates to get him in advantageous positions.
