  • She had to get political.

Used to like this show until the latest episode where she had to bash the president. Sorry, but our tax dollars shouldn’t be used to support public TV and radio.

  • Delightful and fun!

Such a treat to listen to! Rachel is an excellent interviewer, and I always discover or learn something new every episode. I also appreciate the humor and silliness too.

  • My new favorite

I intended to just listen to the Alton episode but got hooked. It’s one of those where even people I’m not familiar with, I still listen to and really enjoy. What a great show - and mine is my dad’s pheasant with mushroom gravy, an In ‘n’ Out cheeseburger with grilled onions, sushi from Mame in Eugene, Oregon, the vegetarian mezza from Nicholas in PDX, strawberry Yoplait Custard Style yogurt (which isn’t made anymore), and Sam Choy’s pineapple cheesecake with macadamia nut crust. Plus lots of Si... more

  • So good!

I can’t believe it took me so long to check out Rachel’s show! I had heard of it through my favorite podcast, TBTL, where I was first introduced to Rachel back in 2008, during its KIRO days. I didn’t realize then what an absolute joy of a human, and what an incredible journalist, interviewer and storyteller she is! Every episode is such a delight - even those featuring guests I’ve not heard of or don’t think I’ll enjoy hearing from. That’s due to Rachel’s genuine curiosity and relatability. Peo... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Lukas Nelson: Venison Leg with Chimichurri
Q: Well, I got to ask you the main question of the show. What would you choose for your last meal?
A venison leg with Chimichurri, eggs, and a sweet potato, prepared by a Maui friend who knows how to cook meat perfectly, reflecting a blend of hunting heritage and island culinary influence.
The Leftovers with Jay Duplass
Q: What is the movie that you've seen the most in your life that you can just watch?
Raising Arizona or Dumb and Dumber are endlessly replayable for me; when either one comes on, I'm hooked and watch it to the end, which shows how certain comedies endure for generations.
The Leftovers with Jay Duplass
Q: What is your favorite movie theater snack?
Dark chocolate Raisinets, evolved to the dark chocolate version, which I think has raised the bar for movie snacks and colored my theater experience since youth.
The Leftovers with Jay Duplass
Q: Can you still get that? Cause I always had a Baskin Robbins ice cream cake as a kid.
Yes, you can still get it, and I do still get it as a man in his 50s, which shows how durable and nostalgic this flavor has been for me.
The Leftovers with Jay Duplass
Q: What is your perfect birthday cake?
A Baskin Robbins mint chocolate chip ice cream birthday cake, the flavor I've loved since childhood, with a chocolate chip mint ice cream essence and an extra kick that makes it feel like an incredible treat even as an adult.
